Ruby’s Story

Ruby F. Nazaruk is a 29-year-old writer from rural Alberta. With a passion for reading, writing, and her Catholic faith, Ruby’s creativity shines through her dyslexic perspective. A Former homeschooler, armed with a B.A. in History and an ever-growing notebook collection, she’s ready to share her enchanting stories with the world. Ruby has wanted to be an author since she was a kid. There were times when it seemed like it was just a pipe dream. Being dyslexic, it seemed like writing a book wasn’t going to happen. Yet Ruby did not give up. She kept writing and did not give up. In December of 2022, she decided that 2023 would be the year she would publish her first book. In 2023 she self-published not 1 but 5 booksShehe icurrently s working on multiple other soon-to-be-published books.

It has been quite the journey. There were some times I really didn’t think it was going to happen; I kept thinking someday, and then I realized that what was stopping me was me. I wouldn’t know I’d succeed or wouldn’t until I tried. Don’t give up on your dreams. Remember it can’t succeed or fail until you try.

Being a self-published Author means there is a great deal that goes into the process, and yet it is worth it to have the opportunity to share my work and the hope that what I have to say will help others.

Ruby was homeschooled from kindergarten all the way to grade 12. She Graduated from Wisdom Homeschooling in 2015. She took some time to find her path. She graduated from Concordia University of Edmonton in 2022 with a B.A. degree in History, a History Major & a Political Science Minor.

Dyslexic

Being Dyslexic with a mix of the different forms sincshe was littleat has continued into adulthood it hasn’t stopped Ruby from having full-timeme job, graduating from universi,ty or following her dream of being an author. While it has its own challenges and struggles, it’s taught her that when one way doesn’t work, try another.

Endometriosis & Chronic Illness

Ruby has faced many challenges in her life. Specifically, that of chronic illness and her battle with Endometriosis. While it is not easy and pain can interfere with everyday things, Ruby tries to remain positive and continues to keep moving forwardShe doesng her besnot toot let the pain stop her from living her life.

The Stories

Ruby has been writing for as long as she can remember. Journals and notebooks filled with her life and story ideas. While she didn’t publish her first book till 2023, she was writing and creating material for her books throughout her life. Ruby likes to mix newer pieces with older pieces within her story collectionsDifferent things inspire her storiesgs; some are based on real things and emotions, and others are fictional creations.
